Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will address the US Congress at 1300 GMT on Wednesday, March 16, US Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced in a joint statement on Monday.
"The Congress remains unwavering in our commitment to supporting Ukraine as they face Putin's cruel and diabolical aggression, and to passing legislation to cripple and isolate the Russian economy as well as deliver humanitarian, security and economic assistance to Ukraine," the statement further read, per Reuters.
Markets remain relatively quiet after this headline. As of writing, the S&P 500 Index was up 0.25% on the day at 4,215, the Nasdaq Composite was little changed at 12,836 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average was rising 0.45% at 33,094.
Meanwhile, the US Dollar Index continues to fluctuate in a tight range near 99.00.
